Welcome

This is our first entry with our new Blog site. I'm new at this of course, so bare with me. Hopefully this will be a great tool for keeping everyone in the family up to date on stuff going on with us. So let me start with a photo from our Disney Trip this last summer and then go into what's going on now with everyone...

Tom is doing well and looking forward to his sabaitcal next fall. He will be immortilizing himself as a computerized virtual human. More on that as I learn.

Lee is looking at architectual schools and working on her BFA. She did a 4' x4' self portrait for a special problems drawing class with Tom. I'll attach it for you to see. Lee lives next door with her two college girl friends. They seem to enjoy the lifestyle over there, but are very busy with school and keeping their high gpa's.

Nikie has had quite a time lately...She broke her two front teeth during basketball practice by running into a concrete wall (the kids were told to dribbleand run while looking at the ceiling). So the dentist took 3 hours to rebuild her teeth just hours before her 13th birthday party. Then she had to get a Herbst Device installed in her mouth to bring her lower jaw forward. And just Monday...had her braces put on. I haven't photographed her yet with her braces, but will soon. Nik is also involved in an Animated Documentary Class and is doing very well. The screening is December 11th as well as during the True/False Independent Film Festival here in February. Nik and I are both trying out Tai Chi. Not sure how far we'll go with it...but we do feel great after the class.

Toby is doing fine. Sometimes Nik puts him on the trampoline for fun.

And me...well yesterday I just found out that my heart flutters (premature ventricular contractions) are a result of a Thyroid gone bad, so now I'm on medicine for that for the rest of my life. It's a good thing though...could have been worse. Mom and Dad came out for a visit in October and we had alot of fun!!! Here Dad had taken us all to dinner a the Macaroni Grill.

I'm hoping to get out to Denver for Thanksgiving to spend time with my sisters and their families. Sheri had her third baby in June, Tyler, and I haven't seen him yet. I'm hoping Abby and Jon (at college in Iowa) will drive to Columbia and ride with Nikie and I to Denver. Lee is hanging back to draw and Tom has jury duty. So not all the family will be together, we'll just have to make up for it at Christmas.
